Visa interview experience
Me: Goodmorning Officer!
Vo: Goodmorning, please hand me your passport and documents.
Me: Here you go..
Vo: types my info then continues with.. I see you chose Computer science as your major, may I ask you why?
Me: Well officer, I’ve been passionate about tech since high school. Even during school, We were assigned with tech projects of making websites and games, which made me realize how much i enjoy creating things through code. So, further I wanna deepen my knowledge in areas like software development, game development and AI.
Vo: So you applied to Nebraska Lincoln.
Me: Yes Officer!
Vo: The University fee is really high how are you planning to pay for it?
Me: My parents and grandfather will be funding my education. Their total income is around 55k usd and they have savings around 44k usd in Laxmi Sunrise Bank for my education.
Vo: What do your parents do?
Me: Both my parents are successful business owners. My father runs a Export/import business of Kitchen and Electrical items and my mother she runs a business factory of exporting Nepalese Traditional items all over nepal. My parents also owns immovable assets in house and lands worth 5cr. So, I’m confident that my parents can easily pay the fees.
Vo: What bout your grand father?
Me: My grandfather owns lots of land in biratnagar and has leashed em for wheat and rice farming. So, he earns pretty good income from that.
Vo: What about your parents where are their lands located?
Me: gets confused and answers about the business location but while he was typing I was like ohhh the land i mentioned earlier of my parents?
Vo: nods
Me: oh yeah they are located in different locations in jhapa like damak and dhulabari and others.
Vo: Where did you study your highschool?
Me: I completed my highschool here in ktm at kmc.
Vo: where did you stay here?
Me: I stayed at on campus hostel.
Vo: So, you dont have house here in KTM?
Me: No officer.
Vo: Then why not migrate to ktm since the family makes that income?
Me: Well the business in jhapa has been passed over generations as the business was previously done by our grandparents and now our parents and the business has grown pretty big that the items we export has even reached india.
Im not sure after this i think he asked me about why this uni so I answered on the basis on my interest in game dev and its program being similar also the scholarships that I received and then yeah he handed me the green slip saying congratulations* (edited)
